These little tackers are the bacteria responsible for Gonorrhoea, Neisseria gonorrhoeae. (I spared you the more graphic pics you get if you venture into Google images. Pretty oozy and icky.)
The interesting thing about Gonorrhoea is that it only lives in humans and is only transmitted human to human.
Which means, of course, that either Adam or Eve must have had it.

When you make humans from clay, there's no telling what detritus and bacteria can get into the mix. Not the most hygienic method of creating a species.
Nah. These critters evolve over time. Which is why you need to get an annual flu shot.
