Work of the devil?

.
Cardinal George Pell

I have had a shot at Cardinal George Pell in the past, when he said that 'Jesus said nothing about global warming' and hence dismissed it as immaterial. There are lots of things JC didn't mention, George. Cardinals, for instance.

But today George confirmed my suspicion that he lacks the mental dexterity needed to be a piece of broccoli.

The good Cardinal tells us that praying will cure cancer.

Hey George! If intelligent design was so flash, how come we get cancer in the first place?

On the bright side, I suppose it gives homoeopathy an air of respectability.

And ups the chances of me getting a placebo beatified.

"The most significant religious change in Australia over the past 50 years is the increase of people without religion, now about one fifth of the population. All monotheists, Christians and Jews, Muslims and Sikhs, must labour to reverse this. We must not allow the situation to deteriorate as it had in Elijah's time, 850 years before Christ, where monotheism was nearly swamped by the aggressive paganism of the followers of Baal."

How does he intend to reverse the decline? Enforced conversion?

Who spoke the piece that Chairman Bill quoted? The Cardinal? Sounds like quite the whack-a-do.
