Australia has its first saint! Woohoo!
Sister Mary Mackillop has been credited with 'curing' a couple of people who prayed to her long after her death.
Sounds a bit suss to me. Postmortem propaganda and reeks a bit of graft and corruption on the beatification panel.
As it is quite common for people to spontaneously recover from various illnesses regardless of their knowledge or prayerful supplication to the good sister, should we elevate happenstance to the sainthood?
And what of placebos?

I do wish Christians would make up their mind on their theology. Do we die, not to rise again till Judgement Day (in which case there are no people in heaven yet to which one can pray for intercession), or is Judgement Day just a misjudgement?
