It was reported on the news today that the Vatican has rejected three Ambassadors proposed by the US. All of them were Catholics but the Vatican felt that they were not sufficiently anti-abortion in their beliefs and refused to accredit them.
Must the Ambassador from communist China be a Catholic?
What of the Ambassadors from Israel and the Middle East states?
This is not a pro or anti abortion post. It is a finger pointing post, pointing at the Vatican's hypocrisy and double standards. What right does a State have to prescribe the personal beliefs of someone that has been chosen by their own country to represent them?
It is time to recognise the Holy See as what it is: interfering, irrelevant and out of touch.

I haven't heard about this at all. The US media is so crappy! But why would we think the Vatican would have improved in the last 1000 years? And why would they? Isn't the pope touched by God of something?
Be careful not to mix ignorance and hate when you are trying to interpret this sensitive matters, if you do so, you will find how fare and necessary this measures are for the church, God bless your hearts and minds so that they become clean specially to the one that posted this picture.

I truly enjoy this image, what is its true source. I find it a little hard to believe that they are actual Vatican urinals. Although I must say I would be very impressed with the Holy See's sense of humor.

Those urinals are not in the Vatican, and it is the sovereign right of every country to refuse an ambassador that is aligned against the state they are ambassadoring in.
As illustrated by Israel, South Africa, Argentina, United Kingdom, USSR, and even your honey-pot USA.

Seems I may be in the minority here but I completely understand. The Vatican is not only country but the embodiment of a religion. I would assume if China or Israel were to appoint a "Catholic" the same test would be applied. In principle, I would like to think that if the US appointed a Jew the Vatican would not apply the test. I'm not Catholic, and don't agree with a lot of what comes out of the Vatican but sorry guys this make sense to me.
